Is Ukraine about to turn the tide of the war?

In 2023, amid the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian government launched the Brave1 platform, uniting and allying all national innovation talents in terms of Defence.

According to the director of Brave1 Natalia Kushnerska, the active forces working on the project had already, at the time, developed "crucial technologies such as interceptor drones capable of destroying Russian reconnaissance drones like the Orlan and the Zala, significantly impeding Russia's precision strike capabilities". As reported by the Kyiv Independent, Ukraine plans to use new weapons against the Russians in 2025.

Already specialising in drone piloting, Ukrainians now wish to advance by launching new technology allowing a single pilot to manage "a swarm of drones", as noted by The Independent. Drones that could, in the near future, be fully controlled by AI (artificial intelligence). This technological advancement would be capable of annihilating Russian Shahed drones, constituting a daily threat on the battlefield.

Land Drones and Long-Range Strikes

Brave1 is also developing land drones capable of "compensating for the lack of personnel by performing tasks currently carried out by ground soldiers", such as "reconnaissance, support for defensive and offensive operations, goods delivery, casualty evacuation, and mine clearing/laying".

Encouraged by the efficiency of long-range strikes, Ukrainians plan to increase them to change the course of the war. Natalia Kushnerska also asserts that "by 2025, we expect more such strikes, as the Ukrainian missile program is rapidly developing".
