Manchester United are set to make a £70 million offer to Brentford for forward Bryan Mbeumo, with £65 million to be paid directly to the London club.
The Cameroonian striker, who scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season, has been a top transfer target for United manager Rúben Amorim since the start of the summer window. Despite interest from Tottenham, Mbeumo has made it clear he wants to wear the Red Devils shirt next season.
The 25-year-old is on course to become United’s third summer signing, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Diego León.
Mbeumo is expected to join the team for their pre-season tour of the United States, which kicks off next week.
Brentford will make a significant profit from the sale, having signed Mbeumo from Troyes in 2019 for just £5.8 million.
