Although China has reiterated that it's not supplying arms to Russia and remains "neutral" in the armed conflict, Ukraine has decided to take action against China.
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he will sanction three Chinese companies: Beijing Aviation and Aerospace Xianghui Technology, Rui Jin Machinery, and Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Xining.
Beijing Aviation and Aerospace Xianghui Technology is a company active in the aerospace and aeronautics industry.
Rui Jin Machinery specialises in the manufacture of industrial machines, including automatic cutting and sewing equipment for woven bags.
Finally, Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Xining is a leader in the production of high-performance carbon fibres. Its production base in Xining is the largest in the world in terms of output and capacity.
These sanctions, which include the freezing of these companies' assets in Ukrainian territory, trade and financial restrictions, and a ban on technological cooperation, follow several reports by the national intelligence service, the SBU, which claim that China is supplying Russia with gunpowder and artillery three years after the start of the offensive.
