In an interview with CBS, the Ukrainian president stated his wish to purchase anti-aircraft defence systems from the United States.
Volodymyr Zelensky proposes purchasing 10 Patriot systems at 1.5 billion each. "That amounts to 15 billion dollars. We're ready to pay for them. We will find the money and pay everything," he assured, while his armed forces are currently experiencing significant difficulties with the tanks sent by his allies.
No means no
The response from the American president was swift. Donald Trump decided to spare no favours for his Ukrainian counterpart. "You don't start a war against someone twenty times bigger than you and then hope people will give you missiles," he stated on Tuesday during a meeting at the White House, as reported by The Kyiv Independent.
These statements are like a stab in the back, as Kyiv has just experienced one of the most violent attacks since the war began. The bombing of Sumy will not be soon forgotten.
