Ukraine on Wednesday accused Russia of effectively rejecting a US ceasefire proposal after revealing a wave of attacks on its civilian infrastructure.
These attacks occurred just hours after Moscow agreed to end attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector.
"Unfortunately, there were shellings, particularly targeting civilian infrastructure, including a hospital in the city of Sumy," stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media network X.
"Today, Putin effectively rejected the proposal for a full ceasefire," he added. US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had agreed during a long phone conversation on Tuesday that Moscow would end attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector, short of a full ceasefire.
