Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that at this stage Russia had only given "negative signals" about the possible end of the conflict.
For the Ukrainian president, it now seems clear that "Russia will not keep the promises made to the United States" during the recent meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska.
The international community therefore has no choice but to respond with more "pressure." Zelensky, who emphasised the importance of convening a meeting at the leaders' level to discuss "key issues," emphasised in a speech that "Russia must be forced to take concrete steps," once again calling on Washington and other allies who "think this war is wrong."
In this regard, he indicated that Ukraine would remain "ready" for a future meeting and confirmed that the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, and the secretary of the Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, had travelled to Qatar and Saudi Arabia to advance diplomatic efforts.
