Woody Allen has spoken about his experience working with Donald Trump, describing him as "a pleasure to work with" and "a very good actor" during their collaboration on the 1998 film "Celebrity."
The New York director praised Trump's professionalism and showmanship, stating that he was "very polished, played his part perfectly, did everything right, and had a real talent for the entertainment industry."
Woody Allen noted that Trump was easy to direct and expressed interest in collaborating with him again on a future project, even joking that he would like to direct him during his presidential term.
In their collaboration on "Celebrity," Trump plays himself in a humorous scene where he jokes about buying and demolishing St. Patrick's Cathedral in order to build a very tall and beautiful building.
Despite his positive comments about Trump as an actor, Woody Allen made it clear that he disagrees with Trump on "95 to 99 percent" of political issues and emphasised that he is not a partisan, having voted for Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election.
