In 2022, the billionaire Elon Musk purchased a 650m2 mansion in West Lake Hills, a very upmarket suburb of Austin (Texas, USA). That’s where he settled after leaving California.
Not everyone was happy about his move. In fact, local residents, who hadn’t immediately realised that the Tesla boss was going to be their neighbour, didn’t appreciate the changes brought about by Musk, according to The New York Times.
Transformations and... lots of noise! The world’s richest man first set about building a 5-metre-high fence around his property, without any permission. What’s more, Elon Musk is reportedly rather fond of noisy parties and receives a great many visitors. So, between the building work, the festivities, the constant comings and goings and the many cars parked in the surrounding streets, it all became too much. The neighbours didn’t hold back at a neighbourhood meeting… Whether things will return to calm overnight remains to be seen…
To be continued.
