US threat to Ukraine peace talks

According to Reuters, the US will stop trying to mediate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine within a few days if there are no clear signs that an agreement can be reached.

Speaking in Paris after a meeting with European and Ukrainian delegations, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that US President Donald Trump was still interested in the deal, but had many other priorities in the world.

"We're not going to pursue this enterprise for weeks and months. We need to determine very quickly, and I'm talking about a few days, whether it's feasible in the coming weeks or not... It's important, but there are many other very important things going on that deserve just as much, if not more, attention," he said.

On the other hand, according to Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukraine Office, a new negotiation format has been established and is expected to be very effective.

Ukraine, the US, France, the UK, and Germany will continue negotiations in London.
