As negotiations loom, the Russians are trying to gain more ground in Ukraine. But on the Ukrainian side, they're not standing idly by.

Zelensky's armed forces have acquired sharp expertise in drones, and this event won't suggest otherwise.

In a Facebook post, the 412th Nemesis regiment claimed to have destroyed "an enemy Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system in the Luhansk region". They said, "Intelligence services tracked the target's route, pinpointed its position accurately, and, in cooperation with other units of the Ukrainian defence forces, attacked the enemy's air defences".

$100 million up in smoke

According to the news agency RBC-Ukraine, "the Buk-M3 is a Russian medium-range self-propelled air defence system. It can hit aerodynamic targets at a distance of up to 70-75km and ballistic targets at a shorter range... Its main purpose is the air defence of troops and installations against aerial threats in conditions of active electronic warfare".

According to some experts, a system of this type is estimated to cost $100 million (a little over €90 million).
