Ukraine will not withdraw its troops from its own territory

Defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity is a constitutional duty of the president and the military, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"This issue isn't about President Trump. Why? With all due respect, it's because this is our land, our country, our army, and our independence. The question is what Ukraine can and cannot allow itself to do. No one will withdraw our troops from our territories. It's my constitutional duty, and the duty of our army, to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," said Zelensky.

He noted that there are currently territories temporarily occupied due to Russian aggression, but Ukraine will not bow to any ultimatum, and "no one will give up their land, their territory, their people, or their home."

"I don't know what principles are contained in the memorandum. Probably, well, let's be honest. This is what we have discussed with the leaders, and I have spoken about it several times with President Trump and his team. If Russia demands the withdrawal of our troops from our own territory, it means they don't want a ceasefire and don't want the war to end. Because they clearly understand that Ukraine will not do this," added the Ukrainian president.
