Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lamented the lack of an American response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's rejection of a total and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine, following further deadly attacks, particularly in Kyiv.
American President Donald Trump has been pushing for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, more than three years after Russia's invasion of the country. Trump has proposed a 30-day unconditional truce, which Kyiv accepted. However, from Moscow he could only secure a ceasefire in the Black Sea and a vague moratorium on attacks on energy infrastructure, which both parties accuse each other of violating.
"Ukraine accepted the American proposal for a total and unconditional ceasefire. Putin rejected it. We're waiting for a response from the United States, as so far there is none," said Mr Zelensky in his daily message, following another night of massive attacks from Russia.
