A new "powerful tool for combat missions" has just been developed by the Ukrainian military company HUB.

The existence of a new versatile naval strike drone has just been confirmed by Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation. Named "Katran", the drone has been used by Ukraine’s armed forces and could, according to Fedorov, destroy targets both at sea, in the air, and on land. "Information on the missions with this drone is classified, but they have become a real game-changer at sea," he said on March 25 on Telegram.

Automatic threat detection

The Katran is equipped with Piorun anti-aircraft missile systems and features a Browning multi-barrel machine gun at its bow, as well as torpedoes on its flanks. Formidable on the battlefield, it can reach speeds of 130km/h and cover more than 1000 kilometres. Moreover, as reported by the media outlet L’Indépendant, this naval strike drone doesn't require a separate electronic warfare system, it has an integrated automatic threat detection system.

Powerful in combat

Mykhailo Fedorov expresses his enthusiasm: "It's a super technology that sets a new standard for warfare". Meanwhile, the Ukrainian manufacturer HUB emphasizes that with artificial intelligence systems and sensors, the Katran is a powerful tool for combat missions.
