According to Reuters, Chinese companies offering their products on the Amazon online marketplace are considering raising prices or withdrawing completely from the market.

This change follows the increase in tariffs announced by Washington on Chinese imports, rising from a rate of 104% to 125%. It should be noted that these tariffs effectively represent a tax of 145%, due to the previously applied 20% tariffs on the Asian giant.

Wang Xin, president of the Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Association, stated "that it's not just a matter of taxation, but that the increase in tariffs by the Trump administration has completely disrupted the entire cost structure".

According to Mr. Xin, Washington's "unprecedented move" has driven many Chinese suppliers and companies to abandon the American market and to focus their commercial efforts on other regions offering better conditions for Chinese trade.
