Every year, the CIA publishes its report on the state of the world and its future. From this report, the CIA creates a book, "The Crucial Challenges and Immediate Threats as seen by the CIA".
As has been the case for several years, Alain Frachon, a French journalist and international affairs specialist, provides his preface. Frachon writes, "Cloudy skies, threatening storms."
This report presents a portrait of the world and the threats facing the United States, as perceived by the American intelligence services. "What is interesting when reading this report is its connection with Donald Trump. The American President has a dreadful relationship with the American intelligence services, be it the FBI, the CIA or the NSA", explains Alain Frachon.
"In this report, the domestic threat is greater than usual. It is immigration, linked to drug trafficking, and associated with gang crime," which is of utmost concern to the CIA.
Another issue highlighted in the CIA report: China and its threat towards Taiwan, and the commercial relationship between the United States and China.
