According to The Wall Street Journal, the Trump administration is attempting to control the hiring and firing of officials and civil servants.
This comes as Elon Musk is set to reduce his involvement in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
In light of declining profits at Tesla, Musk has pledged to cut his workdays at the DOGE to one or two per week. He will focus on managing his own businesses.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration will have civil servants assessed based on their diligent implementation of the president's laws and policies. Advancing Trump's political agenda will become the main focus of civil servants' performance evaluations.
