Amid negotiations and reversals on customs tariffs, Donald Trump has taken the time to sign a decree on the authorised water flow power of showers in the United States. He will be able to thoroughly wet his hair.

This isn't a joke. The White House issued a statement on a Trump decree to "Make America’s showers great again". The occupant of the Oval Office has been complaining for some years now about the showerhead flow rates in the USA. An energy law limits the maximum power to 9.5 l/min (2.5 gallons) to save water. This is now over. And to echo the rhetoric of the official statement: "Today, President Donald J. Trump signed a decree to end the Obama-Biden war on water pressure and restore the greatness of American showers."

His beautiful hair

Trump explained that the flow limitation prevents him from taking care of his "beautiful hair" that he wants "absolutely perfect". He therefore modified the rules on showerheads, which he describes as "green extremism". In doing so, he takes a swipe at Obama and Biden, who amended this law to ultimately set the current limit. However, the decision to implement restrictions was initially enacted by Republican George W. Bush in 1992! From now on, Donald Trump will be able to save time shampooing his mane with plenty of water.
