Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska on Friday could last longer than six hours.

This Kremlin estimate is based on Trump and Putin's agenda: an initial private meeting between the two leaders, in-depth discussions with official delegations from both countries, a working lunch, and possibly a meeting with the press. It will be recalled that the previous summit between the Russian and American leaders, held in Helsinki in 2018, lasted two hours, a standard length for this type of meeting.

A few hours before his meeting with Putin, Trump assured that European leaders "weren't telling him what to do," but affirmed that they would be involved in negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Moreover, this Wednesday, several European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, asked him during a video conference not to negotiate behind Ukraine's back and to take Europe's security into account.
