US President Donald Trump has given Russia an ultimatum to end the war in Ukraine or face further sanctions.
Donald Trump has also announced the imminent dispatch of a large quantity of weapons to Kiev via NATO.
Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to put an end to the invasion, which began in February 2022. His offensive has intensified in recent weeks, coinciding with the stalling of US-led negotiations to end the fighting in Ukraine. Every week, Moscow breaks records for the number of drones launched, supplied by a defence industry operating at full capacity.
"We are very, very unhappy" with Russia, Trump told reporters at a meeting with NATO chief Mark Rutte at the White House. "We're going to apply very high tariffs if we don't reach an agreement within 50 days, tariffs of about 100%," Trump said.
