The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford, weighing no less than 100,000 tonnes, is set to join the Nimitz and the USS Carl Vinson, already at sea en route to the Middle East.

It is the largest in the world and the latest addition to the US Navy. This aircraft carrier can hold an air wing of at least sixty planes and drones, according to media outlet L’Indépendant.

Since the American strikes against Iranian nuclear sites, Washington has clearly taken a stance in the conflict between Iran and Israel. Now, the military leadership is stepping in with its resources. On the morning of 24 June, the Gerald Ford will leave the Norfolk Naval Base (east coast of the United States) "for a scheduled deployment" to Europe, a US Navy official recently stated. It’s worth noting that this naval giant is capable of launching up to 160 aircraft per day.

For several days now, similar movements have been taking place: large military transport planes have landed at military bases in Europe, and dozens of aircraft have left a base in Qatar to avoid being damaged should Tehran attack the site.
