Trump and his major pressure move on Zelensky and Putin

On Wednesday, US Vice President JD Vance urged Kyiv and Moscow to reach an agreement to end the war.

During a visit to India, JD Vance warned Russia and Ukraine; if an agreement isn't reached to resolve the conflict, the US will “withdraw”. He added that the two countries would need to proceed with “territorial exchanges” to achieve this agreement. The US Vice President also mentioned the possibility of “freezing the territorial lines at a level close to what they are today”.

An attack that doesn't help

On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, Russia launched a large-scale attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, angering the United States further. Donald Trump, following these bloody strikes, commented on his network Truth Social "Vladimir, stop this!" "Let's make the peace deal!"

This isn't an ultimatum

For his part, the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov considered that the statement from the Trump administration was not an ultimatum. “The United States continues its mediation efforts, and we welcome this,” he emphasised.

As for the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he insists on an “immediate, complete, and unconditional ceasefire”.

In response to JD Vance's proposal of “territorial exchanges”, Paris indicated that respecting “Ukraine's territorial integrity and its European aspirations are very strong demands of the Europeans.” It's “for Ukraine to decide its future,” London also asserted.
