Trump advises Ukraine to retaliate

Several international media outlets have reported that Donald Trump recently suggested that Ukraine should go on the offensive against Russia in order to win the war.

The Wall Street Journal reports that "Trump said the offensive against Russia must continue to be pursued to win the war," adding that Trump believes it is impossible to win without attacking the enemy's territory.

The Telegraph also headlines: "Trump suggests Ukraine should attack Russia to win the war," deeming victory impossible without this change of posture.

The Times of India published a video summarising Trump's position on its Truth Social network, relaying his message that "it is very difficult to win a war without attacking the invader's country."

The Independent quotes a tirade from Trump on Truth Social, in which he compares Ukraine to a sports team that only defends and asserts that victory must be achieved by "fighting back."
