A 68-year-old woman died on Saturday evening after taking a walk post-sunset in the well-known Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The tourist was trampled by a herd of elephants and succumbed to her injuries.
The woman had ventured out alone at around 11:00 PM, leaving her husband asleep at the Sirheni Bushveld Camp.
CCTV footage revealed what happened. The 68-year-old woman walked through the camp gates onto a dark road, where a herd of elephants with calves was also present. When the animals noticed the woman, they panicked and charged at her. The tourist was subsequently trampled.
