A speeding violation was noted in Haute-Savoie (France) on 8 March. According to the Road Safety Authority, on certain roads with a 130km/h limit, it may be possible to go up to 145km/h without being caught. Here, we're talking about 258km/h!
258km/h instead of 110km/h, an offence that didn't escape the vigilance of the Genevois police. Late in the evening, the daring driver in an Audi RS3 Performance with over 400 HP was spotted. It was at the Viry toll booth that he was intercepted by the authorities.
The man, who lives in Lausanne, was returning from a family meal in Lyon, according to the media outlet Demotivateur. He immediately admitted to his stupid and dangerous act, stating that he had “messed up!”. Consequently, penalties were swift as the motorist had his driving licence confiscated pending a court decision. The car, which belonged to a friend, was impounded.
