Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced on Sunday that Ukraine would be ramping up its deep strikes on Russian territory.
The Ukrainians are on the offensive. Barely three weeks after "Spider web"—an operation targeting remote air bases—they will step up their attacks against military targets in Russia.
According to Oleksandr Syrsky, these strikes have already proved “effective”, emphasising that Ukraine would only hit military targets. “Of course, we will continue. We will increase the scale and the depth,” he stated.
These comments come as negotiations to end the conflict (now over three years long) remain stalled. “We will not be content to remain on the defensive. Because that brings nothing and ultimately leads to us retreating, losing both men and territories,” added the Ukrainian commander-in-chief.
