The victorious Ukrainian fishing expedition: The new Russian S8000 Banderol Missile

According to information from the media The War Zone, Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR) reportedly managed to capture a (almost intact) sample of the S8000 Banderol.

This is a new Russian cruise missile with a jet engine. This weapon is said to have been intercepted on Ukrainian soil.

The Banderol was developed by two Russian companies, KT Unmanned Systems JSC and Kronshtadt JSC. The speed of the missile, equipped with a jet engine, is impressive: up to 500km/h.

Described as a sort of miniature missile, the Banderol is light and very agile. It was specifically designed to be launched from drones or Mi-28N attack helicopters, reports L'Indépendant. And it recently demonstrated its effectiveness in Odessa against electronic warfare and short-range Ukrainian defence systems.
