The head of Russia's foreign intelligence service, Sergei Naryshkin, threatens Poland and the Baltic states with military retaliation if the war in Ukraine spirals out of control.

The head of Russia's foreign intelligence service has just threatened Poland and the Baltic states with military retaliation if the war in Ukraine spirals out of control. "They should understand, but do not yet, that in the event of aggression from the North Atlantic Alliance against Russia and Belarus, it will of course be the entire NATO bloc that suffers. But those who will suffer first will, to a large extent, be the carriers of ideas such as those found in political circles in Poland and the Baltic countries," he said.

In an interview with the Russian state news agency TASS, the head of Russian spies states that Russia and Belarus are ready to respond to a potential "European escalation" resulting from the war in Ukraine.

According to Sergei Naryshkin, the Baltic states and Poland have shown what he calls "great aggressiveness" towards Russia, accusing the four countries of "constantly sounding their weapons".
