While the benefits of avocado in food are numerous and well-known—especially for reducing cholesterol levels in at-risk individuals—the same applies in cosmetics. A powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, avocado delights more than one skin type. This summer, embrace the virtues of avocado, a must-have ingredient in any skincare routine.

Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, avocado is your daily skincare ally. Used by the Aztecs (13th–16th centuries) as a dressing, it remains one of the most effective natural healing agents today. Whether as a mask or serum, the oil extracted from its flesh has also been proven to soothe stressed skin affected by pollution or UV rays, and that lacks moisture.

Avocado and its many benefits

With 25% lipids, avocado oil deeply nourishes the skin without suffocating it. Unlike certain oils such as coconut, it doesn't clog the epidermis’s pores. Thanks to its palmitoleic acid content, it integrates perfectly with the skin’s structure. It absorbs with ease, and its dense texture blends perfectly with other compounds and skincare formulas (for hair, body, or face). Avocado oil also strengthens the skin’s hydrolipidic barrier, helping it maintain sufficient hydration while promoting optimal fat distribution. Lipids indeed trap moisture in the dermis and prevent it from evaporating. The vitamin E in this super ingredient also helps prevent flakiness and excessive production of dead skin cells.
