On the 25th of March, two Russian tactical bombers flew over the French high seas vessel 'Enseigne de vaisseau Jacoubet', operating on behalf of NATO in the Baltic Sea.
As reported by the Armed Forces General Staff in its latest report, the Russian Su-24 'Fencer' tactical bombers were closely monitored by French Rafale and two Italian Eurofighter EF-2000 / Typhoon jets.
Still according to the General Staff, the two Russian aircraft didn't "hinder" the mission of the French patrol vessel deployed as part of the 'Baltic Sentry' maritime surveillance operation by NATO, as stated by the media L’Indépendant. This operation was organised to deter any potential threat to strategic infrastructures in the Baltic. "NATO forces demonstrate professionalism and, when faced with provocations, always act in a way that allows de-escalation," further emphasised the General Staff.
