Spain has never been more popular with tourists

In the first three months of 2025, Spain welcomed no less than 17.1 million international tourists. That is immediately a record because never have so many tourists visited Spain in the first quarter.

Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, the costas, ... Spain is hot with tourists. Spain is by the way after France the most important tourist destination in the world.

The tourists traveling to Spain have mainly come from the United Kingdom (3.1 million), France (2.1 million), and Germany (2.1 million) this year. This was reported by the Spanish statistics bureau INE.

The growing tourism obviously leads to increased revenue, but resistance among the local population is also growing as rental prices are soaring even for locals, and the infrastructure is suffering under the large influx of visitors.
