Salma Hayek trapped into getting married

Salma Hayek admitted that she had no intention of marrying the French businessman François-Henry Pinault, whom she wed in 2009. It was a deception by both families, who took the actress to get married one morning without her knowing where she was going and, more importantly, why.

Both spouses are still married and have a daughter, but this story is curious, as Salma Hayek herself recounts: "My father, my brother, and François's mother conspired to trap me, they were all in cahoots to ensure the ceremony took place."

She says that she loved and loves Pinault, but what she didn't want was marriage: "I wasn't for marriage. I had a phobia of marriage, I didn't want to get married. But I had no choice but to do it at the insistence of our families."

"Today, I don't regret it, even though my love for my husband didn't require signing documents to legalise our cohabitation," declared the Mexican-American-Lebanese actress, director, and producer.
