Russia has accused the United Kingdom of collaborating with Ukraine on sabotage operations involving an American vessel in the Baltic Sea.

In a statement released by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Moscow claimed to have knowledge of a plan aimed at escalating tensions in Ukraine—this time within a NATO-controlled zone. However, no concrete evidence was provided to support the allegations.

The SVR asserted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to increase sabotage operations in the region. According to Russian intelligence, Kyiv is deliberately trying to escalate tensions and derail ongoing diplomatic efforts between Moscow and Washington.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Baltic Sea has seen multiple sabotage incidents, including one involving a Chinese vessel that allegedly severed undersea cables with its anchor.

Kyiv has become the perfect executor of vile provocations and terrorist attacks on behalf of ‘perfidious Albion’ and happily does its dirty work,” the SVR said in its statement, using a historical term often used to refer to the UK.
