With a relieving goal last week, striker Romelu Lukaku dispelled all doubts, and after the final whistle, it was time to celebrate: Napoli were crowned Italian champions for the fourth time in the club’s history. Forward Romelu Lukaku has undoubtedly played his part in manager Antonio Conte’s title-winning season. The Belgian striker scored his fourteenth goal on Friday evening. Lukaku also won the championship under Conte three years ago, then scoring 24 goals for Inter.
According to Italian media, the paths of successful manager Conte and Napoli will part ways at the end of this season. Juventus are closely monitoring Conte’s situation with great interest. There is also talk here and there of Napoli’s interest in coach Massimiliano Allegri as a possible replacement.
And next season, Romelu Lukaku might even be able to welcome his mate Kevin De Bruyne. The Napoli team is reportedly willing to go to great lengths to attract the Manchester City icon, who announced his departure a few weeks ago. Could Lukaku and KDB write another beautiful Belgian chapter together for Maradona’s club?
In Brussels, fans are openly dreaming of a return for icon Romelu Lukaku. Major RSC Anderlecht shareholder Marc Coucke spoke on Thursday evening about a possible return of Big Rom to 'his' Anderlecht. "Will Lukaku return to Anderlecht? He will come back, yes. One day. Whether that’s in one, two or three years, I can’t say. Romelu dreams of Anderlecht, but he’s just won the championship with Napoli. That was fantastic. Now he just needs to enjoy for at least another year what they’ve achieved in Italy. With the Champions League as well," said Coucke on ‘Bar Goens’ on VTM.
