History student Émilien could never have dreamt that he could take part in the popular TV quiz “Les 12 Coups de Midi” on French television no less than 647 times in a row. Only after a year and a half, a competitor managed to play Émilien home. Moreover, the French student went home anything but empty-handed.
In September 2023, Émilien made his first appearance in “Les 12 Coups de Midi” on TF1, a popular French afternoon TV quiz in which someone keeps coming back every day as long as he or she wins. Émilien lasted almost two years, collecting numerous incredible prizes. For instance, he collected a whopping 2.5 million euros in prize money, won 23 cars, quite a few holidays and a countless number of kitchen appliances. Besides the huge sum of money, it involves 809,881 euros in gifts. In early June, he was finally caught on speed and eliminated. ‘It had to happen sometime, I could never have foreseen that it would take so long,’ he said in an interview with French magazine “Gala”. ‘Now I will first take a year's rest, then I will possibly continue my studies again.’
