"Reconciliation with Ukraine is inevitable and a matter of time" (V. Putin)

Russian President Vladimir Putin calls reconciliation with Ukraine "inevitable".

"It's a matter of time", declared Vladimir Putin to journalist Pavel Zarubin during an interview broadcasted in a film shown on Russian state television in commemoration of Putin's 25 years in power.

Putin spoke of a 'moment of reconciliation' with neighbouring Ukraine. "That seems inevitable to me, despite the tragedy we are currently experiencing."

The president also emphasised that there are enough troops present to successfully complete the 'special operation' in Ukraine. "Nuclear weapons do not need to be used", stated Vladimir Putin.
