The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is convinced that Vladimir Putin deliberately ordered the bombing of Kiev during the G7 summit to make the countries' leaders look weak.

This was stated in a Foreign Office statement.

"We are convinced that Putin deliberately ordered this bombing during the Group of Seven summit to make the G7 leaders look weak. He is deliberately showing utter contempt for international peace efforts, particularly those of the United States," the Foreign Office said.

The Ministry notes that Russia has not taken a single constructive step towards peace and that, on the contrary, Moscow is stepping up the terror, the bombings, the killing of civilians, the attacks on the energy system and the destruction of Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

All this shows that there is no other solution but to increase the pressure on Russia," says the Foreign Ministry, which is calling for tougher sanctions, particularly in the energy and banking sectors, and for Ukraine's defence capabilities to be strengthened.
