Putin wants Ukraine to surrender

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to impose his will on Ukraine without any genuine willingness to negotiate.

During a visit to Kyiv, Johann Wadephul stated that "Putin is not giving in to any of his maximalist demands: he doesn't want negotiations, but capitulation."

"Russia is banking on a weakening of our support and wants conquest and submission, at any cost, even at the cost of hundreds of thousands of additional lives," Wadephul declared.

"As long as Russia refuses to engage in genuine negotiations, we will continue to limit Putin's means of financing his criminal war through sanctions," the German Foreign Minister added.

"Berlin is working on this within the EU and with our G7 partners with the utmost determination," he assured.

And in conclusion, he solemnly affirmed that "the freedom and future of Ukraine are the most important task of our foreign and security policy in Europe."
