Putin agrees to a 30-day ceasefire on Ukraine's energy infrastructure

Putin and Trump discussed Ukraine and agreed that Ukraine and Russia would exchange 175 prisoners of war.

The two men agreed to "create expert groups on the settlement in Ukraine" to further explore the issue.

Russia demands "effective control" of any ceasefire along the front line. Russia's request includes halting the mobilisation of Ukrainians and the rearmament of its armed forces, as well as a broader demand to "eliminate the root causes of the crisis".

The statement also adds the "essential condition" set by Moscow to avoid further escalation of the conflict, namely the complete cessation of foreign military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

The Russian statement, however, confirms that Mr. Putin has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire on energy infrastructure and indicates that the Russian leader has already given orders to implement this decision.
