The American and Russian Presidents had agreed to discuss peace in the Ukraine conflict in a telephone conversation between 4 PM and 6 PM Moscow time. However, at 4 PM, Vladimir Putin was still at a congress with Russian industrialists and entrepreneurs.

Putin is known for his tendency to keep others waiting. When former Russian Minister of Economic Development Aleksandr Shokhin pointed out at the congress that he would be late for the phone call with Donald Trump, Putin simply laughed it off, according to the Russian news agency Tass.

The phone call between Putin and Trump eventually took place around 5 PM Moscow time and lasted one and a half hours.
