Pope Francis is to leave the hospital on Sunday where he has been staying for five weeks due to a double pneumonia.

The pope had to undergo a long oxygen therapy at the Gemelli hospital in Rome and, according to Argentine Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, the pope will have to learn to speak again. According to an official statement from the Vatican, the recovery will take about two months. With this message, the Vatican immediately also dispels the rumour that Pope Francis is considering resigning.

Pope Francis was in the hospital for five weeks and his condition was often critical. It is not yet known when he will make his next public appearance.
