On Friday, the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, dismissed the head of the Immigration Service of Sierra Leone, Alusine Kanneh.

He was dismissed after video footage surfaced on social media showing him partying with the Dutch fugitive drug criminal 'Bolle Jos'.

The video shows him receiving a gift from one of Europe's most wanted drug traffickers, Jos Leijdekkers, also known as 'Bolle Jos'.

The footage was made in 2024 in the country's most exclusive restaurant: restaurant LOR. It was Kanneh's birthday party, the head of the Immigration Service in Sierra Leone. He celebrated his fiftieth birthday, in the company of an enthusiastic Bolle Jos.

"The president exercises his constitutional power to appoint and dismiss anyone he wishes and uses that power based on criteria that are his exclusive privilege," said Minister of Information Chernor Bah on Wednesday, without specifying the reason for the dismissal.

The Dutch drug criminal is already facing nearly 50 years in prison in Belgium and the Netherlands, but he has yet to be arrested. Leijdekkers is believed to have been hiding in the African country of Sierra Leone for at least two years.
