Spiderweb, the intelligence operation carried out by the Ukrainian army last weekend, which succeeded in destroying 41 Russian aircraft as part of a covert operation involving 117 drones, took 18 months of planning.

According to experts, Operation "Spiderweb" highlights a level of planning, infiltration, and synchronisation rarely seen in conventional scenarios, demonstrating operational integration between intelligence, logistics, and cutting-edge technologies.

The emergence of autonomous platforms and AI-guided drones launched from Ukraine is forcing Russia to rethink its multi-layered defence, taking into account threats that had previously not been considered credible.

On the Ukrainian side, President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly stated: "Ukraine has carried out a brilliant operation, planned and executed independently by ourselves. Ukraine has been clear: we will not surrender and we will not accept any ultimatums. But we do not want war. We do not want to show our strength; we are compelled to do so because the enemy refuses to stop. And when we show our strength, we do so justifiably, by targeting military objectives. We demonstrate this not only to the Russian aggressors, but also to those among our allies who were once staunch supporters but have now started to falter. Confidence in the Ukrainians and faith in Ukraine have been restored."
