Moscow raises the spectre of world war

The Vice Chairman of Russia's Security Council and former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev stated on Tuesday that he hoped US President Donald Trump would understand that 'the only truly bad thing is World War Three'.

Medvedev was responding to remarks from the White House regarding Moscow. "Regarding Trump's comments that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin is 'playing with fire' and that 'very bad things' are happening to Russia, the only truly bad thing is World War Three. I hope Trump has understood this," he said via his profile on social networking site X.

Just hours earlier, Mr Trump had said that his Russian counterpart "does not understand" that "if he hadn't been there", "so many bad things would already have happened to Russia". "He's playing with fire," Trump warned in a brief message posted on Truth Social.
