Michelle and Barack set the record straight

Barack and Michelle Obama are not separated. Despite persistent rumours in the American press for several months, the couple publicly denied any separation during a joint appearance on the ‘IMO’ podcast hosted by Michelle Obama and her brother Craig Robinson.

Michelle Obama clarified the situation by saying: "At no time during our marriage did I ever think about leaving my man" and explained that rumours are often fuelled by their separate appearances at certain public events. She also recalled that, although their marriage has had its difficult moments, they remain very close and committed to each other. Barack Obama himself joked about the rumours, pointing out that he didn't even know they existed until he was told about them.

Michelle Obama's conspicuous absences from major events, such as Donald Trump's inauguration and Jimmy Carter's funeral, have given rise to speculation that she says has no basis in fact. The couple, who have been married for 33 years and have two daughters, have set the record straight: they are not divorced and remain united.

"We've had some really difficult times. We've had a lot of good times too, and we've had lots of adventures together. And thanks to the man I married, I've become a better person," said Michelle Obama, to which Barack Obama jokingly replied, "Don't make me cry".
