Manipulated by Putin, Trump threatens Russia

The United States could withdraw from the negotiation process to resolve the widespread war in Ukraine if Donald Trump feels he's being "used".

On ABC News, the White House special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said, "I think when the American president talks about walking away if he feels he’s being used and sees no hope for progress, he says: 'We’re done with this': We’re done with this. It’s Europe’s turn to act".
He was commenting on Mr Trump’s threats to leave the negotiation process.

In recent months, the United States has held a series of separate meetings with representatives from Ukraine and Russia regarding a solution to the large-scale war. During these talks, Washington offered Kiev a complete ceasefire, an initiative Ukraine immediately supported. Russia, meanwhile, has started putting forward its own demands.

On 16 May, direct talks between Ukraine and Russia were held in Turkey for the first time in several years. In these discussions, Kiev and Moscow agreed to a large-scale prisoner exchange under the formula "1,000 for 1,000".

At the beginning of his second presidential term, Mr Trump repeatedly criticised Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky, but in recent months, his rhetoric towards Russia has noticeably changed and significantly hardened.
