Little girl (6) cuddles deceased mum for hours

A six-year-old girl did not show up at school in Trieste, Italy, near the Slovenian border, prompting teachers to become worried.

The school tried to reach the mother but failed. Eventually, it was decided to notify emergency services. Responders went to the family’s apartment but were met with a closed door. They decided to force the door and found the 6-year-old girl on the lifeless body of her mother. The 30-year-old Ukrainian woman was found to have died a natural death, and her little daughter had been cuddling her for hours. The girl has temporarily been handed over to social services in Trieste, which have started a procedure to ensure her safe care.
