Vladimir Putin continues with his brutal attacks on Ukrainian civilians and Ukrainian territory. It seems clear that the Russian president simply wants to continue the war and his stated intentions to end the conflict are mere lip service. This is also stated by the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga.

During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, Russia carried out a large-scale attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv using rockets and combat drones. According to the emergency services, there are already reports of 9 fatalities and 63 injuries. This is reported by the military authorities of the Ukrainian capital and mayor Vitali Klytsko on the messaging service Telegram.

Six children injured

42 people have already been hospitalised from this new Russian attack, including six children who urgently required medical attention.

According to the mayor of Kyiv, residential buildings were hit in several districts and fires broke out in various locations. Following the targeted rocket and drone attacks, residents had to try to free themselves from the rubble.

Additionally, the city of Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, was also targeted during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

"The Russian president Vladimir Putin shows with his actions (...) that he has no respect for any peace effort and only wants to continue the war", stated the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga. The minister also criticised Moscow's "maximalist demands" that Ukraine cede a larger part of its territory as a condition for peace.
