On Saturday evening, Russia launched a massive air attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, that lasted for more than five hours, a drone bombardment that killed at least three people, according to the city's military administration.
The State Emergency Service confirmed the toll of three dead and eight injured. The air raid alert in the capital lasted five hours and 13 minutes, until dawn.
According to the air force's morning report, Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with 147 Iranian Shahed drones, of which 97 were shot down in the south, north, west, and centre of the country. The regions of Kiev, Kharkov, Sumi, Chernobyl, Odessa and Donetsk were affected by the Russian attack.
For his part, the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, indicated in a message posted on Telegram that a "massive attack of enemy drones had caused debris to fall in various districts of Kiev, resulting in several casualties".
