Japan sends ominous warning to Russia after unveiling revolutionary weapon

Japan has just revealed a devastating new weapon capable of reaching blistering speeds of up to 9,000 km/h. 

The railgun, designed to intercept hypersonic missiles and swarms of drones, was developed by Japan’s Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) and was recently tested aboard a Japanese warship.

According to Interesting Engineering, the prototype weighs several tons and fires projectiles at speeds of 2,500 meters per second using magnetic force.

A spokesperson for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) said: "In preparation for future combat, the Self-Defense Fleet promotes research, development, and earlier introduction of equipment necessary for the JMSDF in close collaboration with the ATLA and other organizations, as well as continues to build up its defense posture to protect Japanese citizens and territorial waters."

The railgun is part of Japan’s broader investment in next-generation weaponry. According to The Defense Post, the Japanese government has allocated $74 billion toward developing this technology.
