Iran Supreme leader calls Trump a liar and an ‘embarrassment’

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has accused Donald Trump of lying during his Middle East tour, particularly over his claim that he seeks peace in the region.

Speaking from Air Force One, the U.S. leader had warned that Iran must quickly accept Washington’s proposal on the nuclear deal or face “something bad.”

Khamenei dismissed Trump’s remarks as not worth responding to, adding that the real threat to the region was Israel.

Trump has previously threatened to launch a military strike on Iran if an agreement is not reached soon. His administration is now pushing to fully dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, citing fears that Tehran could eventually develop nuclear weapons.

In response, Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, emphasized that the nuclear program is entirely peaceful and under strict international oversight.

“Iran’s facilities were inspected more than 450 times in 2024 alone by the United Nations,” Eslami noted.
